Outline of NHK Spring's Exhibit

We will exhibit coil spring-type contact probes using the world's smallest class of micro springs developed by NHK Spring, as well as probes for high frequency, FT sockets, and other products. Also on display will be a multilayer shower head that utilizes advanced bonding technology, a metal cooling plate with thermal spraying, a water-cooled multi-zone heater, and other products. As for electronics-related products, suspensions for HDDs, integrated metal substrates, and substrates with integrated heat sinks for better heat dissipation will be exhibited.

● Semiconductor process parts

  • With the advancement of 5G and other high-speed communications, IoT, and AI, higher performance semiconductors for smartphones and servers are required. Complex and fine semiconductor manufacturing processes are required to produce such advanced semiconductors. NHK Spring's semiconductor manufacturing equipment components such as heaters, cooling plates, and shower heads support these semiconductor manufacturing processes with accurate temperature control, repeatability, and high durability and corrosion resistance.

● Microcontactor, Semiconductor inspection equipment parts

  • As "high-speed communication" such as 5G, which is indispensable for convenient life, advances, there is growing demand for communication in high-frequency bands (30 to 100 GHz), which has a larger information transmission capacity and is less likely to interfere with existing communications. Accordingly, semiconductors (and semiconductor inspection equipment) must also be compatible with high-frequency bands. NHK Spring is also developing semiconductor inspection equipment components (high frequency probes) for higher frequency bands, and will contribute to this social trend.

● HDD suspensions

  • The demand for data storage is increasing due to the development of social media, cloud computing and various other cloud services, AI, DX, automated driving, etc. As a result, HDDs used in data centers are becoming higher capacity, denser, and more precise. NHK Spring's HDD suspensions meet these needs and contribute to the convenience of society by providing our customers, HDD manufacturers, with more accurate suspensions.

● IMS (integrated metal substrates)

  • In order to mitigate climate change and achieve de-carbonization, electrification centered on automobiles is advancing. NHK Spring's IMS have superior heat dissipation properties compared to resin substrates and can withstand higher currents, thus contributing to the electrification of automobiles. We are also developing substrates with integrated heat sinks for high current and high voltage.
