NHK Spring has developed and produces micro springs with a wire diameter of 15μm and an outer diameter of 67μm using proprietary technology. These springs, which are thinner than a hair when coiled, are of course so small that they cannot be recognized as springs by the naked eye. Accordingly, the manufacturing process involves highly precise work using microscopes. Applications are expanding, primarily in semiconductor testing, where miniaturization and high functionality are required for smartphones, home appliances, automobiles, etc.
