Participation in Society and Contribution to its Development
Our business sites and group companies are spread across various regions in Japan and overseas, and each office is developing activities that are rooted in its own local community. We are making concerted efforts to further expand the circle of symbiosis from local communities to the world.
Sponsorship and cooperation with local events, etc.
Activities Centered on NHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium
NHK Spring has owned the naming rights for NHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium since 2008, and it signed a contract to renew the naming rights for another five years from March 2021. From the viewpoint of preventing the spread of infections caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had fewer opportunities to make effective use of free usage rights, a benefit of the naming rights that we have continued to enjoy in the past, however, we are working to energize the community by sponsoring sports teams based in Yokohama, where our headquarters is located.
16th consecutive year of holding naming rights
Ongoing sponsorship of NHK Spring Yokohama FC Seagulls
We have been the main sponsor of NHK Spring Yokohama FC Seagulls, which belongs to the Nadeshiko Women's Football League Division 1, since 2016 and renewed our sponsorship agreement for a further five years in 2021. By sponsoring this Yokohama-based team, whose home stadium is NHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium, we will continue to deepen our relationship with the local community through the team.

Holding of track and field jumping classes
Since 2016, YNU Sports Academy (Yokohama National University Sports Academy), a non-profit organization, and the Company have jointly held a track and field clinic for junior high and high school students in Kanagawa Prefecture at the Yokohama National University ground. (Cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic).
The training is conducted by NHK Spring's athlete employees as a part of our social contribution program for athletes who aim to improve their competitive level of jumping, as well as for the development of future top athletes. A total of 415 people have participated over five clinics held to date.
Support for para sports
We rent out the gymnasium at our Yokohama office for table tennis and basketball practice about once a month to support the activities of Special Olympics Nippon / Kanagawa, which supports people with intellectual disabilities. In addition, to publicize the activities of this organization, we have installed a wrapped vending machine in our Yokohama office and donate the proceeds from the sales to this organization.
In 2022, we donated approximately 500,000 yen to support their participation in various competitions.
Feeding children around the world through TFT
Since FY2013, we have participated in "Table For Two" (abbreviated TFT), a program in which every time an employee eats a specific menu item at the company cafeteria, the company supports school lunches for children in developing countries.
In total, we have donated 1,102,000 school meals, and since 2017, we have been recognized as a "Platinum Partner," TFT's top supporter, for seven consecutive years.

Utilization of stockpiled emergency rations Meal support activities through StockBase Inc.
NHK Spring Head Office is involved in meal support activities by distributing stockpiled emergency rations that are about to expire to children's cafeterias, food banks, and organizations that support the needy. StockBase, a Yokohama City University student start-up company, acts as a bridge between our Company and organizations in need of food assistance, and strives to make effective use of stockpiled emergency rations that would otherwise be disposed of.
We have donated 2,068 emergency rations to 20 organizations over the past two years, with cooperation not only from Head Office but also from each of our business sites and affiliated companies. This activity can reduce food loss while at the same time providing food support. One of the challenges is to dispose of stockpiled emergency rations that have expired, and we have begun doing business with a company that reuses them as livestock feed. We intend to continue these activities to achieve zero food loss.

To be a company that is rooted in the community (Sumihatsu Co., Ltd.)
Our group company, Sumihatsu Co., Ltd., established an affiliated company, Sumihatsu Service, in Ibaraki Prefecture as a company rooted in the community, and started a home-visit nursing care business in 2000. 2015 saw the opening of a nursing care facility, "Amabikinosato". In addition to home-visit care services, it also provides day-care services, in-home care support, and home-visit bathing care. Sakuragawa City in Ibaraki Prefecture, where Sumihatsu is situated, has a large elderly population. Therefore, we continue to operate our business so that not only the elderly but also their families can live in peace. We will continue to aim to be a company that is well-liked by everyone in the community.

Sponsorship and provision of parts for Formula SAE Japan (FSAEJ)
The Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE) has continued to sponsor Formula SAE Japan, although the method of holding the event was changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to sponsoring the competition, NHK Spring continues to respond to requests for the provision of parts for the development of participating vehicles by each team, thereby supporting their activities in the midst of a challenging environment.
