NHK Spring Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Yokohama, Japan; President & COO: Kazuhisa Uemura) announces that it has decided to invest in the green bonds issued by Nagano Prefecture this year, as it has done for the previous two years running.
Approximately 2,000 people, or about 20% of our employees in Japan, work at 13 of our group's domestic locations in Nagano Prefecture. Through this investment, we will be deeply involved in measures to improve the natural environment of the Prefecture, an important base for our company. We believe that contributing to the sustainability of Nagano Prefecture will, in turn, result in greater synergy regarding our contributions to local communities through our core business.
Based on our investment in these bonds, we will continue to strive to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through our business activities.

The funds raised through the issuance of these bonds will be allocated to the environmental measures listed below that Nagano Prefecture is undertaking to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050 (measures for mitigation) and to avoid or reduce damage from natural disasters caused by climate change (measures for adaptation).
